‘I hope the joy I feel when designing our pieces is the same joy you feel when opening your unique Nasi treasure’

Coming up with new, creative ideas has always been my passion. Being from an artistic, ‘offbeat’ family, I’ve always had an overactive imagination, and imagining new ideas to bring to life has been my outlet.

Spending a lot of my life in my parents’ jewellery shop from a young age made me realise the feelings of excitement I get from unique and unusual pieces, and I wanted to share that feeling of wonder through my own designs.

I first had the idea for Nasi when I was exploring the beautiful jungles of Indonesia. Walking through these lush environments, I had a feeling of awe towards the nature I was experiencing that was a totally different experience to how I felt in my everyday life at home.

Allowing myself to enjoy those beautiful places, away from my day-to-day worries, gave me a sense of calm and wonder that I wanted to carry away with me when I left. Mostly importantly, I wanted to explore ways to share that feeling with others.

That’s the inspiration behind Nasi – to create pieces that unlock those feelings, reminding us of past adventures and giving us the chance to step back into them, disconnecting from the pressures of everyday life, even if it’s only for a moment.

We all need to find ways to disconnect and get closer to nature. I hope Nasi can be part of that process.
